Reward for actually driving your car

During a recent rainstorm, I marveled at how the water coming off of the roof line flows into a really nice "V" shape as it flows down across the rear window towards the "PORSCHE" logo on the bottom edge of the glass as you drive along. I thought that was a pretty cool sight.

A word of warning though, for those of faint heart, you MUST acutally drive you vehicle in the rain to see this.....

I still can't bring myself to drive it in the rain! Black is a full time job as it is without getting it in the rain!

You should only drive in 'de-ionized' rainfall.

Water splash on mufflers

On a rainy road trip into Wyoming (Rt 189) a fews years ago, I joined behind a 996 and noticed then the road was wet the splash on his mufflers caused two huge counter rotating steam vorticies to roll behind the car. Yet, it was very hard to view them from in my 997.

I just had Opti-Coat applied to my car, curious to try it in the rain with the coating. However not just yet, its amazingly clean at the moment.

Well, I drove it when it wasn't raining today and a semi entered the freeway in front of me and I had nowhere to go. He flipped mud all over the front of my car, so I would have been better off driving it in the rain yesterday!!! The Porsche gods have gotten even with me today. Off to start the process of a handwash.......
