another DME scan (over revs)

Ok, I'm planning to buy a 2007 C2S with the following readout

Range 1: 11701 1008.0 h
Range 2: 953 1008.0 h
Range 3: 11 1008.0 h
Range 4: 0 0 h
Range 5: 0 0 h
Range 6: 0 0 h

Anything I need to worry about ? over 11,000 in range 1 ? Is that normal for a car with 30000 miles ?

Thanks for your replies. I've read as much as I could on these over revs and I just can't wrap my head around it LOL

My guess is the revs at 1008 hrs. were from a test drive. The range 1 revs are from someone having fun with the car, no damage. Range 3 would not be an issue to me. I had a similar reading on a CPO 997.2 CS and I purchased it.

I agree - is someone really going to make a buy decision based on some unknown person's post?

How many hours are on the car now?

That scan wouldn't bother me at all.

I wouldn't even worry about one that was much worse than that IF there had been a lot of hours between what the car has on it and the hour of the highest reading.

Thanks to all who provided sound input regarding my question. Based on some of your answers (thanks Alan and Josh), I actually did buy this car today. Pics soon.

Congrats. The car had been driven spiritedly and that is a good thing - depending on the school of thought. In general R1 - R3 is OK. Some say, a redline a day, keeps the mechanic away.

Cool!

It is interesting that so much time is spent worrying on over revs on the internet. As far as I'm concerned it is one more tool to use to determine how the car has been driven. What would be more important to me would be was the car warmed up before the car was driven hard.

I would certainly avoid a car that had over revs in range 6 and 5. But minimal in range 4 probably isn't an issue and anything lower than that isn't a concern as far as I can tell.

I'd venture to say that if you were to "money shift" a car that you'd know immediately after. Correct me if I'm wrong but the main concern when severely over revving a car is bending a valve.

Yes, I looked at a 2007 GT3 with zero hits in any range. The car had 24,000 mi. on the odo.
