I have a 30gb iPod classic 5th gen that was doing some quirky things on my 997.2 Like stopped responding so had to unplug.

Solution? Got an iPod dock extension cable off of Amazon and just plug in my iPhone 4S. Benefit is it charges and plays music via the dock connector, and is faster, and doesn't hang up like the old iPod.

I am forced to reboot the iPod to fix the problem. Any idea what's going on with it?

On another note, I love that the Porsche emblem shows up on my iPod when its connected. Very cool!

This can happen if the iPod data is corrupted. Restoring the iPod (with iTunes) will fix that.

Didn't work for me. Did several restores and still had issues. iPod works fine outside the car. Weird.
