Use 10mm deep socket and the 10" long extension to remove the upper screw along the stick that is attached to the lower bumper corner. Use the T-30 torx for the other end of the stick attached to the bumper.

Use 1/2" short socket, flex joint and 20" long extension to remove final two nuts from the muffler bracket inside the wheel well. Muffler can now be removed. It's a little tight so some wiggling is needed but sure is hell of alot better than removing the bumpers.
Repeat for other side and reverse for install. That's it folks. It was easier than I thought. It took me about an hour to drop the right muffler and 20 min to drop the other. First side took longer because I was "lolly gagging". For those of you that's gonna ask what to do with the jack, STOP, don't try this at home and take it to a qualified technician.

I am gonna sound like a broken record but it sounds AMAZING! Keep in mind I have the center Xpipe too so I would not know how it would sound with the oem center muffler. It only cost me about $100 out of pocket and some of that went to Lowes to buys tools I didn't have.

I went to a motorcycle builder instead of a muffler shop. This guy does a lot of work for me for my mfg business so I was confident in his quality. You are right. Some of the pics I have seen shows low quality welds. Probably wasn't preheated b4 the actual weld.

Gundo Hack on both left and right mufflers and Fabspeed Xpipe for the center bypass. (don't know why I said "both left and right" cuz why would anyone only do one side? ) Let me share some of my findings. I had a hard time finding DYI for the 997.2 (plenty of useful info for the 997.1 as the principal are similiar), it's probably out there, I just didn't see it so I decided to create a DYI for us 997.2 folks that want to tackle it themselves.
Tools you'll need:
20 inch long 3/8 drive extension
10 inch long 3/8 drive extension
3 inch long 3/8 drive extension

One of the reasons we buy Porsche cars is because of the inherent workmanship and quality that goes into the build process. Why bugger it up w/ a crappy welding job when w/ a bit of effort it can be done properly.

Absolutely agree! A muffler is a muffler. Insignificant item. Thats why we send it to get butchered, right? At the end of the day we all can agree that the Gundo hack sounds amazing. For me though, being an OCD, if it wasn't done right I know I would be thinking about it all the time so with just so little effort to have it done right, it was an easy decision to make. To each his own.

I posted in a new Thread (https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-complete.html).....The sound is awesome. I only went with a 1 3/4 and I am very happy. Since my car is a daily driver i did not want anything too ear shattering
