Anyone Considered XKR?
#91
No question the 911 is a sports car where as the XKR is a GT. The steering isn't as firm etc. But the chassis is surprisingly well balanced and with a set of springs there is very little body roll. After I did the exhaust and lower the demeanor is much more jeckle and hyde. When I hit dynamic mode, turn off traction control the throttle sharpens, shocks firm up and with the lower stance and blaring exhaust I definitely now grin when I drive it.
Reliability is much less of a concern for this generation XK's. In fact they are quite reliable according to all of my research. And believe it or not the resale is strong on this generation XK. 07's are still in mid 40's and 50's just like 997. The 10'+ will do even better as they got the 5.0 with 510hp. Check them out. You will be surprised at how strong their resale value is. Must be a supply/demand thing as XK's are relatively rare and XKR's are super rare.
Here's cool vid of how balanced the car is around a track. Driving starts at 1:30 and at 3:40 is just a nasty display of the power. Course it can also be a handful!
