Can't believe I waited so long to install a Mobridge bluetooth
Well after 3 years of ownership and a ticket for not having a handsfree kit, I finally pulled got smart and installed a Mobridge in my car and I'd have to say I love it. Can't believe I waited so long. The install is pretty simple, you just need the proper tools and a little patience. Took me about 1.5 hours to do the install.

I had it on the windscreen (based on recommendations here) and the mic was picking up some vibration at high speed and during rains. I just got it relocated to the steering column based on a suggestion by an automotive sound engineer. I am happy with it being on the steering column.

my mic is glued to the upper left corner on windshield. works fine.
i just installed similar parrot system in my wifes honda and on her car i planted mic right where speedometer is behind steering wheel and her reception is better than mine, but it is also way newer parrot system than one in the mobridge unit.

1. yes
2. imho, no. definitely no emails, as of sms - not sure, but imho also no.
mobridge says it allows music streaming over BT - i was not able to make it work.
also, if you have 1st generation mobridge unit - DO NOT try to upgrade its firmware, you may loose your unit.

I was able to switch to A2DP source after pairing. Streaming worked, but I prefer plugging in to keep unit charged.

i see. i have 1st generation unit, so, i guess it is probably due to some bugs/issues.
but, honestly, calls get in fine, music from ipod plays fine and never stucks, so, for what it was intended it works fine.
i have some unpredictable reboots of PCM with it from time to time, and was never able to figure out why - it may not happen in a week once, then may happen 2-3 times during same day, odd stuff. looks like optical cable gets disconnected and connected back. i checked all wiring - it is all fine,so, go figure. but i can live with it.

The instructions are a joke.
So do I plug anything into the back of the head unit? Do I need to pull the head unit from the center console? Do I just do everything from under the hood up front?
