Honestly, it all depends on what type of driving you actually do. For me, my car is a DD and I had Hankook V12's on my last Pcar and they were just fine. Smooth and quiet.

If you do any type of more spirited driving I would say go with the Mich. SS's.

I know a guy that has 5 993s and all he uses are the Hankook V12's.

I will add on my recommendation for the Super Sports. I have had Pirelli's and the PS2s and could not be happier with the Super Sports. I hope Michelin doesn't get wind of all the recommendations for these tires. They will probably raise the price again!

I don't need winter or all season tires. I live in S Cal Summer only work just fine.

Based on the wear data/reviews on TireRaxk, those V12s seem like definitely a better buy than the Bridgestone and with price factored in, may be even better option than the Michelin PSS (again assuming you're using the car for everyday type driving and dont need superrr track style handling)

I'm toying with the Continental idea as well. I'm hearing mixed results with road noise and a few posts that say they're all good.

Can anyone chime in as to what they were running before the Conti's? I'm on Pirelli's right now, but limited to Pirelli's, Michelin PS or Conti's because of my rears.

I find the Pirelli's rather loud on the highway, trying to have a conversation isn't always easy, IMO.

just got a full set of the hankook v12's installed and i love them. also, i got them installed + alignment for $930 (all 4) so they were a steal!

make sure you get an alignment done. ran through my last set in 12 months due the inside 1/3 wearing excessively on the rears...

How many miles? did the dealer do your alignment? I get about 10-12K out of rears and the inside always wears out first because of the negative camber. I'm hoping you didn't have the negative camber "Corrected".

I must say, 930 for all 4 plus alignment is a steal. I just got all four conti's DW, Hancook doesn't make my sizes, for 930 but no alignment, which is a bargin for me as I run 325's on 20's in the rear.

I have a 2005 911s with 20 inch Victor rims. 12 inch in the back and 9 inch in the front.

I am trying to find the right tires. It has a set of Toyo Proxes TR1's with a 315/25/20's in the back and a 245/30/20's on the front.

The back tires are shot. They don't make Toyo Proxes any longer.

I might be able to find a 345/25/20 set for the back. But I am not sure if they will rub.

The car has coil overs installed.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

I would like a wider tire. There seems to be a lot available in 305-25-20's. But I would like wider tires.

Conti makes 325 rears. 345 you're asking for trouble. I like my set, nice and grippy. I had Pirelli's on before and the conti's are much quieter, although they have a curb protector which sticks out past the rim quite a bit more than the Pirelli's did, which I do NOT like. I'm not an idiot and don't get as close to the curb as possible, I have 20's as I like the look of the rim not the tire.

Other alternative is Michelin, besides that, there's nothing in street tires. Michelin was way over priced, I paid 450 for a set of rears, Michelin wanted 900.

Nothing wrong with paying a decent price for a great tire. If you're using your car for mostly street driving and a few 0-60 runs, I would definitely go with the Hankook.

I believe Hankook makes 305 rears, little small on a 12" rim. Which is why I elected to run the Conti's. I refuse to overpay for a set of rears because it says Michelin.

Thanks for all the advice. I was going to get the Conti Extreme Contacts in the 325/25/20's for the back. But they dont seem to make something that will fit the front. The best I could do is a 245/40/20. Or a 255/35/20. The sidewall height in a 245/40/20 is almost an inch more that the 245/30/20. The 255 is better the sidewall height is 3.51 inches. As apposed to 2.89 inches for the 245/30/20's or 3.89 inches for the 245/40/20's. The sidewall height for the 325/25/20's is 3.19 inches. Will a 255/35/20 fit on the front? Apparently they had a 245/30/20 but they dont make it any longer. I could run something different on the front. But I am reluctant to do that.

345? It's going to look weird as there is nearly an inch of rubber hanging from the rim. Your car might look like a hydroplane
I'd say 310 or 315 if you can find them. Anything bigger will make it look weird...

Cool PS2 way to go

I have PS2 and find them amazing. Going on 18K miles and grip is still good.

Thinking about going wider in front (245's instead of 235's). Anybody tried this?

Any difference other than the look?
