Have you searched Pfaff and Downtown Porsche? Short trek to pick it up from Montreal and a fun drive back.
The reason i'm not opting for an Option 3 is because the cars are extremely well priced...

I've searched everywhere and quite honestly i found Pfaff to be the most expensive ones anywhere online.

By the way i absolutely love your 4S!!
If i had to go 997.2 that's exactly down to the last option the car i would choose!
Congrats as i see that you recently got it.

Agreed!
As well as most people here...
I think that's what i'll be doing.

Most people opt for the slate. And you know the history. One question is how long are you going to keep this car before perhaps going for a 997.2 model (2009 or later)? Which may be easier for resale? If that is not important then pick whichever one will make you happier.

All things considered it really comes down to whether you're willing to wait it out and take a gamble...there will be another "perfect" car for the right price down the road it's just a matter of patience with the preowned pcar market I myself passed on a perfect 08 C4S only to may the same for a great 09 C4S just under a year later and am so glad that I did.

Comes down to your Needs vs. your Wants

Doesn't sounds like a dilemma to me at all. I had the exact same choice as you, same miles, different mods, but exactly the same scenario. I definitely went with option 1.

Saved myself 12K in toys I'd be buying anyway.

My local Porsche shop who i know very well knows this car extremely well. He is the one who did all the work on it and said that it is a great car. The owner was very meticulous and always maintained his cars.

option2:
No mods on the car and it's not particularly clean. Nothing major on it but not squeaky clean like the Slate.

Buuuut the black has 15000 miles less and still has Porsche warranty for another year.

Price is the same for both.
sounds like ur heart is saying Slate.. but the logic is getting in the way.

to put things back in perspective.. in about a year, the CPO warranty will have expired.. and the 15k miles difference won't matter that much.. but u will still have the pristine Pcar in the color and the options u want.

perhaps u can negotiate the price a little more and make it a easier decision for u.

As long as it's a C4S it's got my vote!!!!

Seriously...I think those mods make the car more inviting. I agree with a PPI and have the DME done as well...if the guy who knows the car did the mod..he must have a Durametric cable and can give you a print out....just to have that piece of mind!! Black is awesome...but I have a Black 750iL and it's a mother to keep nice!!

Thanks, loving it. Already have ~1380km in a month and its not DD. I would have liked PSE, however that gives me a mod to get, likely to go aftermarket. Negotiate with Pfaff, they will do better. I had thought their asking prices were fairly inline when compared with Downtown, Vancouver and Ottawa. I didn't really look in QC. Ultimately though its whoever has the car you want, then the negotiating starts.

YouYou; sounds like we are in a very similar boat! I am making the final call between 2 997 S cars and facing a similar dilemma! Have you chosen yet? My two aren't different in mods or warranty, they are both CPO with basically same options (One slate & one black ironically!) My only difference is high miles 6-spd vs. Tip low miles Both have fantastic history.

From the other side I would say go slate as well, if the difference between my two options were what you posted that would be my call

Unfortunately for now prices on 997.2's are still pretty high...

I know i read your thread!!!!
I'm going for slate!
Honestly to me that would be a no brainer in your case.
There is no chance i would ever get the Tip.
Last week as i was still researching i found the perfect C4S. Just the way i would have wanted it with extremely low mileage. White on Cocoa. All the perfect bells and whistles! Mint car and priced the same as these two i'm considering.
And then, as i get to the last picture.... Tiptronic! I was bummed for at least 2-3 hours.
So that's where i stand in terms of Tip. PDK might be a different story but even at that i would always choose a Manual.
Did you make your final decision?
