that is correct. i can turn the fogs on as your picture, but not the solid led strip. i think when i installed the male plug to the oem connector i may have reversed it? i will reinstall tomorrow and post.

That's what I'm thinking too. I did that on the left side.

It's a pain in the *** getting the new ones off so take your time and use a suction cup if you have one. (I didn't)

Uninstalled both units today and reversed the male connector to the stock unit and voila! Both middle led strips function. I would suggest that when installing the new lights test the functionality of them first before snapping them back into place to avoid this simple mistake.

I would also like to clear the air on the drl functionality for those with HIDs on as drls. If you have your Hids on as your drl check to see if you have the parking light on as well (in the stock unit). If you do...then you do not need the dectane module...this connection to the middle led strip will already receive the drl signal. I was told by frank that i needed his module thus i have one sitting here uninstalled. Presently when my car is on during the day both my headlights and middle led strip are on.

Thanks for posting, I just installed mine 2 minutes ago.
It was fairly easy.
The only problem I faced was the polarity on the middle drl row. After reversing the polarity they worked fine.

Thanks again and rep points added!

No problem.

For others: The stock bulbs are not unipolar and can be installed either way. The DRL middle light is unipolar, i.e current flows in one direction. this means if the middle row does not work, simply reverse the polarity.

Agree this and the dectane tail lights are a great upgrade.

Have you posted an installed on the module yet? I've just ordered mine from Frank today as the $2 Hack drained my battery.

I'm assuming this module will allow for running the LED's without having to turn the headlights on, can anyone chime in if running the module will keep the LED's on, I'm assuming you guys are running in the "Home" position?

Thanks,

Thanks, I tried to give you another rep point but apparently I need to spread some love around before I can give you another one!

Now I'm debating installing. I don't really want them on all the time, I'd like the option of have all my lights off with the car running, This is why i liked the "Home Option" the best.

Does pulling the E-Brake kill the DRL module? As it would with a real DRL setup?

Pulling the E brake will not turn off the DRL module. However, the Dectane module I recommended to most folks is the one that turns on automatically by sensing current flow. By using that module it saves you having to pull one wire into the passenger compartment to tap into a key switched power source. Makes the DRL's totally automatic when you start the car.

But, if you want to use a battery maintainer charger (folks says those cause the auto-sense DRL module to flicker while charging) or wire the DRL to some other power source, order the one that requires hooking up that extra wire. Everything will wire up on the DRL module just like the instructions say in my previous post, except you will have that 3rd control wire to hookup. If you can find a 12v power source that is switched on only by some other means (like the home position of the headlight switch) hook it there. Then the DRL's will only come on when the headlight switch is in that position.

LOL...NP. Glad the links are helpful. TT2911 has a great suggestion for you, but from your post, it appears that you've already ordered the module that can't do this. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Crap... guys I need your help!

The pin inside the foglight bulb connector is broken (see attached pic for what the connector I'm referring too)

Does anyone know the part number or where I can get it online?

By the way, I bought the Rottec front DRL's from revoms.com (David Bush) - AWESOME service. I highly recommend him/company!
I'm going to check with David to get the details for purchasing the DRL module. I backed out of the $2 hack as I finally had issues with it draining my battery.

Wow

Thanks for this thread - unfortunately, the ease of installation caused me to pull the trigger and spend the money for these! Ordered 'em from FVD, installed quickly, and love them.

Pic of me and my car on the Blue Ridge Parkway last weekend.
