Pdk stutter on slow to stop

Was test driving a 997.2 today, and when the car came to a stop in auto mode, it would stutter when downshifting, like it was kicking through all the gears down to 1st. I never felt this in other pdk cars i drove, is this an issue others have experienced?

My 09 Cayman S did that. However my 11 GTS doesn't.

GBA 997.2S is infamous around these parts
Is it maybe due to a software update?

If the car is an early build and has not had an update that would be my guess. If you want to see a definite change try one of the new 991s.

it was a late model '09 but i've driven other 997.2's that didn't have that. was there a significant software update in that timeframe? it didn't feel right nor natural.

It may need re-calibration.

If you are seriously considering this car I would ask the dealer about the issue as you feel there may be a problem. You could also see if they or another dealer has a PDK car youn can drive.

Happened only in Sport mode right? It's a VERY well defined issue. My 09 does it from time to time as well, but only in Sport mode going from 2nd to 1st gear. It downshifts to first a little early and can be a little jarring. It's a software update to fix. I just haven't had mine done as it really isn't a big deal to me. Just know it is not a problem like the PDK is going out or something. Search on these boards and you find out all you want to know about it. I spoke with my service manager about it when I first got the car, he laughed and knew all about it. No biggie.

yes, it was in sport mode, going from either 2nd to 1st or 3rd to 2nd to 1st. it's good to know it's a software issue. i'll do some more searching.

I have an early 09 C2S PDK - and just got the sfotware upgraded, smooth like butter. Check out my other post for the 09 PDK owners
