Need some advice...
I live in Northern New Hampshire and I love, love, love driving my 2009 C2S on the weekends when it's nice out through the White Mountains and such. But, I always stress out on where I am going and parking with it, as I am sure some of you are with a nice sportscar like the Carerra.
I know that I should just drive the car as it is meant to be enjoyed and driven. But it's not a car that I would feel comfortable just driving anywhere where it can easily be vandalized, etc. Maybe I'm just being paranoid.
I always wanted another convertible and recently looked at the new Audi S5 convertible. It's a car that I would feel comfortable taking everywhere...including Walmart! LOL.
WOULD YOU TRADE YOU C2S FOR AN AUDI S5 convertible?
Vinny

It's a CAR!! I take my 997TT everywhere even Walmart!! I don't park right up front but I don't park way in the back. I try to park with a few spaces on either side.
The first scratch/ding is the most painful but don't let that keep you from enjoying your CAR. It will never be a collectors item. Those days are gone.

Vinny have you driven an S5 yet? Not knocking it by any means, but its no where near the car the 911 is. If anything id say go for an M3 convertible, it's a better balance of sports car feel/power and subtlety than the S5 which is just very numb IMO.

hahaha
You can pretend your porche is a hyundai and park anywhere. It's just a car! No one gives a ****.
No matter what car I have ever driven I always try to get a spot where the dings will be reduced but other then that nothing to worry about.

I have always taken good car of my cars. Even the piece of crap 1974 Honda civic I had as my frist car back in 1984. But I am not going to let a "car" keep me from driving it or worry about dings either. I guess you would never drive your car if you worried about road rash. It is a fact that something will happen to it to pop your bubble. The faster you get over that. The more time you can enjoy you car.

Here's some advice about dings,
Nearly every car will get dinged sometime, somewhere.
You can take precautions. Don't park next to clinkers, pickups, or two door sedans with big doors. Porsches are by and large narrow cars. Park in the center of the space.
Go out to your garage, close your eyes, and deliver the first ding yourself. It's likely to be the only ding you will ever get. Then take a deep breath, relax, and get on enjoying a car.

They come in 6 speed manual and a 7 speed dual clutch auto.
I drove both the S5 and M3 coupe before deciding that the Porsche route was the one for me, though I will say M3 is pretty damn nice all around car.

I've put more marks on my car than anyone else in any parking lot. What I have learned:
Take your ring off when washing your car.
Never grab the door handle with the same hand that is holding the key.
Never rinse the car off with an open hose a few inches from the body.
Actually, I have never received a ding or a mark parking in a lot, and I'm somewhat picky. Not sure if I buy your argument for the S5, but I would for an R8 V10

My brother drives and S5, really nice car, fast and sounds good but doesn't have that "look" too much like a sedan.
As for the M3... I looked at one of these before my p-car and there are just way too many bimmers on the road for my liking. I'm in Toronto so everyone has a bimmer. Just check the local listings in your area to see what I mean.
I think you might be happy with an M6. You can make them look nice an purdy but a little less "youthful" then a 911. That's why I went with the 911.
