Engine Mounts - How much did you get out of yours?

48k miles, seems like there is a some higher than normal vibration developing at idle - otherwise normal any other way. I think it's the engine mounts.

Just wondering how many miles you guys got out of yours before you had to change them...

11,000 miles, then I pulled them out for a set of solid engine mounts. Not a lot more vibration then stock.

Unless inherently defective, engine mounts should last much longer. There are other causes of vibration.

I'm at 60,000 on this one and 90,000 when I traded in my last Porsche - never a problem.

23,000 on mine. Dealer found them defective and replaced them for me under CPO.

What symptoms were being noticed that suggested to the dealer they were defective ?

vibration at idle was enough to rattle your teeth sitting in the seat. The car is noticeably smoother at idle vibration wise after new mounts.

Wow, that is incredible.

I have solid mounts, and hard back seats with very little cushioning and there is very minimal vibration with mine. Maybe my teeth are still tight in the gums

Solid or OEM

So it would seem that my engine mounts need to be replaced to get rid of that teeth-rattling vibration at idle. Anyone out there has experience with both OEM and aftermarket solid engine mounts to say which one I should go with?

What do you use your car for? Track or Street?

Track, go solid for sure.

Street, go OEM for sure.

The solids create more noise then the OEM mounts, and it is not for all. My car is more raw then most. The solids will never get worse then they are the day they are installed.

One other option is the Revo Semi Solid Engine Mounts if you want an in between solution, or if the OEM are expensive.

Or one can consider the OEM RS semisolid engine mounts. Similar pricing as WEVO, but not as nice looking...hehehe

I'm amazed at engine mounts lasting 23K. Unless the car is a track beast you should get substantially more than 23K out of engine mounts.

Volnomad is infamous around these parts
The engine mounts on my wife's 2006 Boxster were replaced under warranty at only 12,000 miles. Rough vibration at low speed/RPM was the first sign. Design or quality control problem?
