Looking at a 997 C2S in L.A.

I am looking at buying a 05 Carrera S in the LA area. I am from TX and am looking at this C2
http://www.platinumautohaus.com/web/2206/vehicle/2136461/2005-Porsche-911%20Carrera%20S%20997-Sports%20Package%20Tiptronic%20Transmission

Anyone in the LA area know this dealer? Any opinions? (be good) Any suggestions on where to do a PPI in the Redondo Beach area?

Checked the CarFax and it looks like all the service has been done at Beverly Hills Porsche. If I call BH Porsche will they give me any service history?
Looks like Pacific Porsche is closer to the dealer, should I have the PPI done there?

I'm with Katera. Heck of alot of miles for an '05 Tip C2S. Beyond what also seems like a pretty high price for an '05 C2S, you'll still need to get it back to Texas (enclosed carrier probably around $1200).

But to answer your question I'm in LA and never heard of 'em and can't recommend any Porsche shop outside the Valley.

What should a 05 C2S be going for? I have been looking and they are all priced much higher. Lots of 05 C2's for $45k??

I think the price is 'ok' (ie, no great bargain) as compared to other 2005/2006's listed on ebay right now. From my point of view I think you'll be disappointed with the lack of options on this car and especially since it's also mated to a tip transmission. Is the extra $10K for an S worth it with a tip?

Unfortunately, wife wants a tip. But I see other tip cars non S for much more. Why? I want to pay $40k for a 05/06 C2/C2S with a auto transmission. Is this reasonable?

I think if you do a broad search you can find a much more optioned car with lower miles in an 05/06 C2 Tip than the one you are looking at.

I spent $60K three months ago for an '09 C2 PDK CPO heavily optioned with 20K miles. I've got no issue wanting an automatic especially if it's a daily driver. I'd go to your local dealer and drive several Tiptronic cars - S and Non S. I would have loved an '09 C2S, but my first requirement was PDK more so than an S, thus I didn't feel an additional $10K bump was worth it since the car wasn't a manual, thus what would have been the point?

Where can I do a broad search? I feel like I have looked everywhere and made all kinds of offers to dealers. Porsche dealers feel like they have the best used 911 in the world. Plus all they tell me is that the car is in high demand and it will sell for the asking price.
Also may I ask what more options can it have? It has sport Chrono, PSM, PASM, looks like nav, bi-xenon, full power seats? All leather?(not sure)

Here is an example of what looks like a car worth further investigating. It's not a tip, but it is loaded with great options. It should give you a really good idea of what availability is out there. Be patient, don't rush into a purchase and keep searching - you WILL find the perfect car. I spent the majority of my time on ebay and cars.com to get a good idea of what the market for used p cars was like. Here is a link from cars.com.

I have emailed the seller several times with no luck. Also much closer to me as I am in TX. Think this one is priced too high?

Nice car - much better than the other. Of course I'm biased to the color

I'd more sooner pursue a car like this one than the prior. Too bad you haven't heard from the seller. I'm only a few miles from this car. From the ad, it seems like he is a very knowledgeable and careful owner and its a car that clearly looks like it's been well taken care of. The other car is fine looking, but you'll know nothing about it - other then whatever the dealer will tell you that will make you buy it.

Now that's much better. Of course check it out for accidents and such. I totally get wanting an auto. I was going to go manual until I drove one for a day. My low back started to get a little fatigued and I had to ask myself, what am I buying this car for? To race or to drive daily. Why I went PDK. And yes, I like the color too haha.

Where could I do a PPI on that car. What would be a fair price? This one looks like I should pursue it. Oh ya I really like the color too!
