I've been reading about CAIs, having installed the proper ones on my past vehicles. On my "new" 997S, I'd like to keep the stock air box, but would like to attempt to isolate it from the heat, not only inside the engine bay but also from the intense heat in my area. So, as you can see, I'm getting a double dose of heat......

What kind of wrap would hold-up, be relatively easy to install, and most importantly, be effective? Also, would any of these companies have patterns for this airbox? What vendors do you recommend?

The first thing I would do is install a lower heat conducting intake material - when I decided to replace the sealed air box. If that cat's out of the bag you'll need insulation to protect you from conducting heat not reflecting heat. The "gold" wrap will help with radiating/reflecting heat but not conducting heat. For that you'll need an insulation that won't let the heat contact your intake tube. Thicker & heavier.
