Source for OEM takeoff rims?
First post here ... glad to see a more active 997 forum, as I have been over on the 993 forum on Rennlist for years but not too much activity on their 997 board.
I've been driving 911s since 1990, and picked up my first 997, a CPO basalt black 06 Carrera cabriolet, over the weekend. (Will post photos!)
The car came with nice lobster claw 19s with new P-Zeros. I would like to replace the rims with either the 07 Turbo rims or the 09 Carrera S II Rad rims. Are there sources for takeoffs or really clean OEM rims out there? I know there are a lot of replica rims, but I don't want to go down that road. I would take the P-Zeros off my lobster rims and just use those as winter rims, or maybe sell them.
If anyone has a nice set they are selling, get in touch. Thanks!

Hey Mark ... I did sell the 993 cab, locally, nice guy. He has a 964 already and will take good care of her for me. I miss the car but the new car is great, too.

Regarding wheels, a set pops up once in a while. I will keep my eyes open for you.
This Saturday is a Rennlist Spring run to Lime Rock. It is posted on the Rennlist 993 forum started by Bob in NY and Arrwin. A few folks from Boston area are joining the group for a nice long drive. Likely close to 50 Porsches on the ride. Join the group. Nice way to spend a day!

I would be all over that ride, Mark, but my rock band is playing in Boston Sat. night and I have to load in and soundcheck in the afternoon.
There's a set of freshly polished and clear-coated S II rims I can get, but they are a bit pricey due to the finish. They look good on black, though.
Thinking seriously about the Turbo rims, they seem to be a bit more available. What is a reasonable price for a clean set of either the S II or Turbo rims (not including tires)?

craigslist national search will get you a wider search area. Also, as stated, ebay and if you are a member of your local Porsche club, you'll get the local and national magazines which also have sales of Porsche equipment and cars.
