Fuel system and brake fluid service

Ok so I have ordered the filter and drain plug to change my oil even though it only has about 4000 miles and new back tires to put on. So while I was at it I was going to change the brake fluid. Anyone using ATE Super Blue Racing Brake Fluid? Is it a direct replacment for my 06 Carrera? I cant bring myself to pay $300 for the service when I will allready have two of the tires off and it is such any easy job. Also the dealer qouted me 350 or so for a fuel injector service. My car has 42000 mile and I have had it for one year and put 4000 of those miles on it. It runs great and I am not sure why the are recomending the service. Unless it is a mileage based service. I was having a stalling problem a while back that they said was caused by the injectors then found the MAF sensor bad the same day. I do not have a manual for the car so I am not sure. Does 350 sound about right for the service?

I am looking at a motive power bleeder for the brakes. Found one that says it fits most euro cars including Porsche. It has the mp1100 adapter. Anyone have one of these? Looks like it would make the fluid change easier.

Yes, I used it on my Mercedes and will use it on the porsche in about 2000 miles... Works very well. I m going to just use DOT 4 brake fluid.
997.2 s have no clutch fitting to bleed that also... yours probaably does if you want to get technical.

ATE, Motul RB600 and Porsche brake fluid are all good. Motul is best though.

If you get someone else to pump the brakes, you don't need a bleeding tool. Just hoses and a small wrench. I haven't tried the Motive bleeder but heard good things about it.

I agree.

The fuels today not only have detergents in them but also ethanol. Ethanol has some bad things about it like attracting water and deteriorating rubber fuel lines but one of the good things is it helps keep the fuel system clean.

I try to always use ethonol free gas in my car. Mostly because I work away from home for a month at a time and the car does not get driven. It is about 10 miles out of the way from the normal gas station but well worth it. Thanks for the replies.

I wish I could find somewhere with Ethanol free gas near Birmingham. You have to go 1/2 way to Montgomery to find a station without it.

I don't worry about it in the car as much but in my lawn equipment and my Ducati it makes a big difference.

And now we've got E15 on the horizon.
