Are Michelin Super Sports Directional?
#16
The OP asked about Pilot Super Sports, not PS2's, but most of the discussion seems to be regarding the PS2's.

Thanks guys- actually, it was I who revisited this older thread started by the OP, but I asked about PS2's.
So what do you guys recommend, is it even worth it to rotate my tires side to side? Thanks for your patience with the newby question..

Yes you did above in post #2- many thanks jhb for clarifying this again (as my search came up with some conflicting answers and led to the confusion)..that was my understanding, that any tire with an arrow showing direction of rotation on the outside: Directional (cannot be rotated side to side) --whereas tires that just say "this side out" i.e. like on my PS2's, are asymmetrical and thus can be rotated side to side.

They can be rotated side to side (ensuring "outside" marking is constant) but that doesn't accomplish anything. Only change is the tire is now rotating opposite direction of what it was on the original side. The inner shoulder of the tire is still the inner shoulder of the tire no matter which side it's mounted.
Thanks Steve! Those were my thoughts as well and wanted to confirm with the experts

2 weeks ago I replaced my PS2s with PSS Michelins. The right rear was perhaps 1mm more worn than the left at the inside wear bar; therefore had I swapped them a few times theoretically I could have evened out the wear. But 1mm didn't make much difference at that point as they were well worn and ready to retire.

Yeah I am noticing slightly more wear from my driver's front wheel compared to the left. Good to know, as I am due for some tires soon and will also be going with PSS.

Slightly different issue. I have the 19" turbo wheels with Super Sports and keep curb rashing my right rear wheel. Its been fixed twice, but I'm at the limit for another wheel repair since it would involve additional machining. So I want to share the pain (well hopefully not!) by swapping the rear wheels /tires left to right. The tires are about 1/4 worn.
Can I just swap them over, or should I just swap the wheels and leave the tires where they are (requires dismounting / remounting the tires on the wheels.)
