TPC Inactive - System Learning - HELP.

Howdy

I have a 2006 Carrera, 41k miles...

Last winter it gave me a TPC inactive warning and never went away.

I took it into a private shop and they replaced the sensors in the wheels, but used VW parts (said it was the same).

Now message still will not go away.

I've tried disconnecting the battery..

Anyone have any tips on this? Man I shouldda just brought it to porsche.

Sounds like the TPMS Sensors from VW don't really work on your Porsche - or also were old and battery dead if they were used.

Get new ones for Porsche from Tirerack (~$400), and have them installed (like I just did).

Did the warning go away after the VW sensors were installed? If not, why didn't you take it back right then. If the warning did go out, I'd suspect maybe batteries in the sensors were old. Porsche dealer can use their diagnostic computer to tell you if the batteries still have life.

For clarity, does your dash read "TPC Learning" and it wont learn? If so, its probably the wrong sensors. It can take as much as 50 miles of driving to finish learning
