I like to hear your opinion, because I am interested on the SC, does this modification really changes your car?, have you been able to drive a turbo? difference? how much faster it is?
thanks

Ive got Fabspeed headers, Cat bypass, with custom muffler.
Even with those bolts on I'm only making 425hp at the crank.
I dynoed it upon first start up after the install.
It was a fairly hot day however not sure if i needed to let ECU adjust properly and re calculate. Or did i do something wrong?
Also I'm having a Aquamist water/meth injection installed as we speak for cooling purposes, would i need to retune? I rather run abit rich to be on the safe side of things.

Definitely, I will keep you posted. I'm not yet sure where the customer is planning to do the install.

I'll ask our technicians if the heat and the ECU adaptation could be the culprits for your numbers. What does your custom exhaust entail? I know our R&D dept. see the same performance from stock exhausts as name-brand aftermarket options. Still, your headers and cat-bypass should give you more performance. If you can send me your dyno, that would also help.

Here was my dyno right off the bat upon install. Bolt on 100hp!
As for my custom exhaust, its a same side in-out hi flow muffler canister attached to my cat deletes.
I have kept up with 996 turbo on spirited drives.
I also beat my friends E92 M3 on numerous accounts, hes got exhaust, intake, with a tune. Not sure if thats considered fast or not.

With the VF S/C kit, you will be in 996 TT territory, possibly even with the X-50 TT ones. But, to say that it's in 997TT territory, that's a bit optimistic, in my experience. You can get there, with a little pulley swap, among other things.

The car feels ALOT faster night, that's when it really comes alive.

Unfortunately we didnt get a baseline dyno.
As for the Dynapack, correct, my wheels were taken off with the dyno directly bolted on to hub.
I will be doing another dyno this weekend either very early morning or at night for the cooler air. Will be doing a before and after water/meth injection dyno. The colder air should give me better numbers.
Will be using a dynamic dyno this time around.

Hello,
I had the original version of this kit, and with some tweaks got to nearly 530HP at the crank, 442 at the wheels. This is with AWE cats, Gundo Hack Cans, and some other bits here and there.
Here's the Dyno Sheet.

I spoke with our Tech dept. about your questions. All 996 kits, from 2005 to present, have been running GIAC tuning. Only the 997 is done in-house. From our tech dept, "Since 2005 we've not yet heard or seen of any running lean issues throughout any of the RPM range. An issue like running lean would have been addressed immediately and not been left unattended."
Here's a dyno of a 996 with the Fuel Trace:
*Not all cars behave the same. Conditions and hardware variations may affect results
Hope this answers your questions.
