Can you share the installations instructions?

Regarding the ECU Tune, is the DIY'r sending the ECU back for tuning?
Can it be gently driven to a shop for ECU Tuning?

IMO I wouldn't drive the car without a tune! Best thing to do and will save you time is to get your car ready for the install and when you start the install pull the ECU first... Send it off while everything else is being done! Honestly this will save you some time. It is what I did when doing my install!

Cheers,

Stacy

^This. We do not recommend driving the car with our kit installed without our tuning. We can help anyone time the flashing of their ecu to accommodate the most convenient install and reduce downtime.

For those of us who bought ours used, how can we tell if our ECU has already been flashed?

If the kit is a Pre-DFI, which I believe it is, then it will not fit your DFI engine.

Currently we only offer supercharger systems for non-DFI engines. If you'd like updates on our potential DFI systems please subscribe to our newsletter found here: http://vf-engineering.com/newsletter/

VF SC kit

Hi Guys,

I am currently at 62k miles and my SC'ed 996 runs like a champ. Did the clutch at 58k, pretty typical for a non-SC 996 clutch at that mileage. I have had ZERO issues with the supercharger/car. When I did the clutch, I also did the IMS, RMS, AOS since I had the tranny out. I didnt tear open the old IMS but it seemed to be perfect and turned smoothly. Currently doing brakes. Aside from typical Porsche maintenance/schedule, the SC kit has not added any service cost to the car. I bought the car with 33k and the previous owner who installed the kit, had put about 10k on it. So, about 40k miles out of the kit and counting. Really couldnt be happier. Oh, and with the Fabspeed exhaust and headers, I have no problem hanging with 996TT/997TTs.
