i give it the beans now and then....but i do it with just me alone, not against somebody. After all, that would classify it as a race

I'm sure nobody will disagree with you, but the title of this somewhat questionable thread asks "What cars have you raced..."

Fair enough. I'm just getting irascible with our emerging overcriminalized, hyper-safety culture.

It doesn't look that way to the families of innocent bystanders killed by street racers. Public roads are NOT designed for racing.

Yeah save it for the track where I go. I've logged 500 hours of track days and still get a rush and learn something new.

Unfortunately, it is the immature children in their rice-rockets and Fast 'n Furious looking cars who have created a situation where racing has been elevated to a felony in a lot of situations with severe consequences.

I have no problem if you are alone on a stretch of road with good visibility (not a residential or business street) but out in the middle of nothing, enjoying your car and what it can do. Unfortunately, a lot of people think neighborhoods is the place for that.

This is my point. Back in the old days speeding in the country would get you a ticket. Now it gets you arrested, your insurance jacked up, and your license suspended. How did we manage as a country before everything was hyper-criminalized?

Back when I was on E90post (the BMW forum), we'd get these types of threads, and people would post their street racing stories, and the other 20-somethings would chime in, "awesome brah!." So this is a refreshing change.

Street racing makes no sense and my 2011 C2S is not made for this insanity. However, my modified Nissan GTR is. With 725 whp, that car attracts constant attention.

had a guy in an RX-8 tailgating me, after he was next to me revving all day and night to race. Since he wouldn't get off my ***, despite the fast lane being open; I lowered my spoiler, and emptied the headlight washer fluid on him doing 70mph. He was all over the lane and had his wipers on full.
