Adding Paddle Shifters to PDK Steering Wheel?

Hey All.. I tried searching, but didn't come up with much useful or updated info. What's the best way to get paddle shifters on my PDK "S" Steering wheel? Any aftermarket, economical options that you can recommend?

This is great.. So the Sharkwerks product in the link is an actual replacement steering wheel? Looks like the install isn't terribly hard. The tool bit seems tough to find, but that's not a big deal. Airbag seems a little scary, but with caution it looks doable. Great help, thanks so much.

Looks like you can also just get a sport steering wheel on eBay for $845. I'm a little confused. The sharkwerkz says it replaces the buttons with paddles, but then the picture write up shows a full wheel replacement. Are you sure that's the right write up, and the product is indeed a full steering wheel?

You have quite a few options in several price ranges. Not familiar with the techArt product, was just posting the link. Doesn't look like a complete wheel. I would wait for your 15% off coupon from Porsche and buy the wheel from suncoast around Xmas.

if you want a paddle wheel, you should wait till you find one used at a good price and buy factory equip

I found a decent priced one. Is there anything needed besides the wheel though in order for the swap to work?

Interesting.. Porsche will install a new one at dealer for $1375.. Not bad to do it through Porsche I thought. This is a full wheel swap with paddles.

The Techart paddle conversion from Sharkwerks uses your existing wheel. That has a couple of benefits since you get to keep your multifunction and heating if you have those options on your car. I have those options on my GTS and I also like the look of the predominately black wheel. As with the factory paddle wheel you can take the parts off when you sell the car. The only downside is the buttons on the front stay with the wheel.

I purchased a factory paddle wheel but I am seriously considering the Techart conversion from Sharkwerks.

We've got a paddle shifter kit available for all PDK wheels here:

http://www.championmotorsport.com/pr...ms-por-pdk.htm

They're billet aluminum, available in silver or black. We perform the upgrade on your steering wheel, so it requires sending it in to our facility.

Here's a few more pics of wheels we've done...

Ok, so if I have no functions on my steering wheel, nor a heated wheel, then there is no advantage of getting the paddles added opposed to a paddled steering wheel swap in same color, right?

Well our paddles function differently then the factory buttons. On your buttons you can up and downshift on both sides. With out paddles one side is dedicated for upshifting and the other is dedicated to downshifting, more like a race-car type setup.
