.1 GT3 Bumper mods planned for C2S

Alex - you have PM.
EDIT - Disregard the PM - I found it on your website. Very possible. Going to research cost of bumper conversion, shield, etc.
Regrets on the threadjack.

I took the next step down the path and dropped off the car at the body shop today. I printed out those photos in the earlier post on letter-sized borderless paper, and the exhaust guy feels much better about the project. I ordered in the longer tips, bc I think they'll work out better. I also order in some side skirts from GT3Tek. Here's the total of what I hope to have done within about two weeks:
- front bumper respray (Aerokit)
- GT3 Vent Kit installed along with Rennline screen. (I bought the template as well)
- front chrome squirters painted black
- Gt3Tek side skirts painted and installed
- 997.1 GT3 rear bumper installed
- custom exhaust routing to center exit
- dual stainless steel coated tips from SLP installed (two singles, 89mm outlets)

I've posted these pictures on 6Speed before, but it probably makes sense to add them in as "before" photos. Since taking these pictures, I've added front and rear Dectane LEDs and the vinyl headlight rings in black.
To answer your question, there's nothing really to show at this point, other than the before photos. I ordered in a bunch of parts, but that's not too interesting until the stuff makes it on the car. The only really unique thing so far is the tips, and I've already posted the photo of those, with 3.5" or 89mm outlets.

Looking great, Jack!
More details on the shaved cup lip please - i.e p/n and how you did it, etc.?
Regardless of how attentive I drive, roads around me are terrible and I keep scraping up GT3 lips. One a smidgen high would help immensely.
Thanks

Wow, this looks really great! As with above, I'd like to know more about the shaved lip. Until this picture I really didn't like black wheels on a black car - but the OZs make it happen. Nicely done.

Thanks guys. Regarding the lip, that's my idea and work. I hacked it up with a jigsaw, then I took a bit more off a few weeks later and evened it out. I finished it up with a dremel. I posted a link on it and I'm continually surprised that nobody else seems interested in this. You guys are the first two! I'm on the road now but I'll try to remember to post a link to that other thread.
Regarding the wheels, I think the red wheel stripes help and they go with the blk/red theme including calipers and seat belts. Also not in the pictures are some nice black wheel caps with silver crests.

Thanks Burg. Depending on your confidence, I'd try out the lip shaving mod just prior to ordering your new lip. If it goes well, maybe you won't even order the new lip. Typically, I think - you'd be cutting away the part thats all dinged up.
Since I can't find anyone to send me a cheap used lip, I might order a new one, bc mine is really really tattered. But I wouldn't shave it right away. I'd drive it for a bit and let it scrape, then cut it up once it's scraped up enough. I've had mine shaved for over a year and a half, and it was ready for the trash prior to the first cut!

Thanks for the interest. The center exhaust isn't DIY, per se, as I'm having it done at a custom shop. I just dropped the car off yesterday, and I should have it back in about two weeks. I'll be out of town until July 9th, so I won't be able to get any good interim photos of the progress.
One update is that the exhaust guy asked if I wanted aluminum or stainless steel piping and I went with the SS. That was his recommendation, suggesting that it would look better - for what little showed from the rear, or from underneath the car.

The exhaust work is complete, and the shop just sent me some photos. I'm still out of state so I haven't seen it yet, in-person. I figured I'd be somewhat subject to the old adage: you get what you pay for, but I think I may have done slightly better than that this time. The total cost for the exhaust includes $150 for tips, and $300 for the work, which includes about $100 in stainless steel, per the guy at the shop. I think the tips stick out a bit farther than ideal, but I don't imagine that it will be a big deal. Squatting down and looking at the read of the car, I could always see a bit of my old exhaust - see the photos earlier in the thread, and it looks like that will be the case with these new pipes. The second thing that seems less than ideal is that it looks asymmetrical, as the pipe on the driver side is a bit lower than the one on the passenger side. I'm not sure it will be that noticeable when viewing normally.
One idea is to work on the heat shielding, as that seems to be part of the issue - I'll try to make that symmetrical and maybe paint it black.
Also, the GT3 graphics will be removed and the bumper will be painted black to match the car. It's just on with a test-fit at the exhaust shop
