Thread Revival:

Beautiful! i think the rear GT3 bumper looks great with that exhaust, but the wheels look too tucked in from the back, making the bumper look like a skirt, i think you should get some serious Spacers...thats just my opinion and what i would do..but i'd WISH my car could even look half as good as yours right now

Thanks for the comments. I've thought about that before, but you made me take another look. From the pics, I'd have to agree. I made the same comments to another user about the GT3Tek rear bumper. That guy went in and had it adjusted - maybe I need to do the same.

There are supports that go inside the bumper, whether a stock Carrera, GT3, or aftermarket bumper. Those rear corners, under the wheels, seem hard to get right. I think there's an adjustment to pull in those lower corners to make it look more like an oval from the back, vs a half-oval, if that makes any sense.

I don't think I could do much more with spacers, but I'll take another look at that as well. I'm already running WB offset wheels on a NB car, which pushes them out very nicely. It looks good from all sides, except that issue from directly behind.

Here are the two pics that concern me:
This one shows what might be a too drastic change in the panel fit, where the rear bumper meets the rear quarter. It seems that the reflection of the tree (?) in the quarter should be visible in the bumper, but it's not:

And then with this one below, it seems like the bumper bows out too much - again where the quarter meets the bumper, this time on the passenger side:

Ironically, I went with the OEM bumper bc I didn't like the 'skirt' look of the aftermarket bumpers! I do need to take the car back into the body shop for tweaks, so I'll have them look at it and hopefully address it. That may be months from now, though. I'll update the thread at some point.

I did the same thing on my 997s. I noticed that you kept the old inner heat shields. The GT3 inner heat shield are different. The GT3 shields have different attachment points which bring the bottom part of the bumper in more.

Looks great! My used GT3 bumper came with heat shields and the shop was supposed to put the new ones on. Can you tell which is which from the photos?

mine is a 2S, but this is supposed to be a NB bumper. I think it's the shields and the supports...

Looks real nice,
but IMO lose the techart side skirts, not flowing well with the gt3 look you going for, plus it looks lower then front end from the side.
