Smile Damptronics install

Just had my my TechArt springs & factory PASM shocks swapped out for Bilstein Damptronics at my local indy. Though only one day in, really happy so far with the way it handles: more feedback, but in a good way. Definitely feels more planted.

In case anyone is interested in the details, I had the Damptronics adjusted to be about a quarter inch lower than the drop I had with the TechArt springs. New heights are 26" front & 26 7/16" in rear. Corner balanced to 37.8% front - 62.2% rear, corners within 8 lbs. All alignment parameters ended up within factory specs, so I didn't have to use any additional suspension bits to compensate for the drop.

Now to enjoy...

Tito_gsx is infamous around these parts
Car looks good, was your main reason for switching to damptronic because of adjustability?

The stock shocks after almost 50K miles on Boston roads were getting weak, so the decision was more about whether to replace with stock + existing TA springs or go for adjustability. Though Damptronics have gotten mixed reviews on this and other boards, I felt it was proven enough to try it out and didn't want to go really overboard with Motons, etc. since I don't track the car as of now.

Was planning to list them on 6sp & rennlist anyway once I had a chance to check pricing, so if you're interested PM me with a reasonable offer!

I lived in the bean prior to owning a p-car. I might end up back there sometime in the near future. What indy shop do you use?

European Performance Engineering (EPE) in Natick for just about everything, Herb Chambers Porsche in Boston rarely, and I drag out my wrenches and Torx bits, etc. for oil changes & simple stuff. I've had the car for a couple of years and, other than replacing the alternator, everything I've had done was optional or preventative maintenance. It's been a very reliable car.

Damptronics vs stock PASM + Techart springs

I did just the opposite as you have just done.

I track extensively and feel that the stock bongers with theTechArt springs is much more workable that the B 16 coil overs.

The B16,s beat the s**t out of the car and the occupants on the road.
