First changes to my 997s
Picked up my 997S (first Porsche) about 2 months ago, and ever since I've been thinking about the little things I wanted to change on the car. SO this week, I got down to business. First, I painted the tips matte black, and I absolutely love the way it goes with the cabrio top. Next, I installed the clear sidemarkers, which I think changes the whole front look of the car. Then I saved the best for last and installed the Maxspeed muffler delete. It exceeded my expectations BY FAR. I am absolutely in love with how the car sounds.

H&R sport springs drop the car about 1.2" and really transforms the car. You will have to be more careful on speed bunps, steep drives, etc., but in my opinion, it really gets rid of the wheel well gap and makes the car look more aggressive/sporty. It does not cost a bunch of money either.

Soccer, I ordered the clears from Amazon. Almost everywhere I checked had them, and all for the same price ($38)

looking good. huge props to you for being able to tolerate the muffler bypass - I've done it, run it for a while and finally gave up - just too loud. i think the backpressure loss is also an issue, without the muffler and the appropriate tune, you'll actually loose hp with this mod - in my case, it was easy to feel loss of torque at low end. I give you big credit though - it's an aggressive mod, and it takes nearly everyone by surprise - sounds just like a GT3RS, maybe better

it looks good !
doug's front lip is part of GT3/Aero pkg. A swap will cost u roughly $2k plus paint/install.
Also, per Gundo, u may lose some low end torque.. have u notice any lack of 'oomph' below 4500 rpm ?
must be super loud without the muffler..

Be careful lowering a cab. The cab chassis is already weaker than a coupe. Lowering it will increase the likelihood of even more rattles. There is a reason Porsche didn't offer SPASM on cabs once they made it available for coupes.

Thanks guys for all your kind words...Carlitos, I did notice a slight difference, but I still have many many mods I wanna do to the car, so I'm hoping to make up that lost oomph somewhere else lol

I am lowered on bilsteins with the and my car has the pasm adjustment from the factory. It still works with the coilovers and drives like a slot car. Look in my album if u want 2 c more pics

I know they offer SPASM on 991 cab, tho.
yes, 997 cab chassis is weaker than coupe.
but lowering it will not make it rattle more. In fact, my lowered cab doesn't rattle under normal driving. The only time i feel the chassis 'flex' is when i am going up/down a steep driveway at a 45 deg angle.
from wiki:
Cabriolet
For the first time, development of the cabriolet version of the 997 led the design and engineering effort at Porsche with the coupe following. Porsche applied the logic that if you started with the more difficult cabriolet challenges (for chassis stiffness) the coupe version would simply be that much more rigid. Despite additional weight, the cabriolet versions attain nearly the same performance figures as their coupe counterparts. Even the rear tail comes up slightly higher on the cabriolets to compensate for differences in drag over the canvas top vs. the smoother coupe shape.
