Durametric vs ......
Hello,
i've read multiple old threads on this topic and completely understand the difference between the pro vs enthusiast. Here is my question. i just want to be able to read / diagnose and reset codes. What do you guys recommend for best non durametric option and then of course i know i can go with durametric. one done side with durametric for me is i'm using macs in my house and would love a all in one solution not tied to a laptop. Thanks in advance.

You get VirtualBox from https://www.virtualbox.org/
It's a great piece of software... I use it to run Windows inside our Ubuntu Linux computers in the house.
Yes, you would need a copy of Windows to install on Virtual box; It's like installing windows on any computer.
I have an ELM 327 OBDII interface with USB adapter, but I haven't had luck with that either from Linux or Windows running in Virtual Box. But it's good to hear you can run Durametric out of VirtualBox-- that was one of my concerns about it, since I had such bad luck with the ELM 327 USB device.

Yes you do have to have a copy of windows... but you should be able to purchase an old used copy of something like Windows XP for dirt cheap I would think. (make sure you have the activation code with the media).
