Need a set of winter tires for my 07' Carrera

Hi,

I use my 07' 911 Carrera as a daily driver and since I live in Chicago I need a set of winter tires with wheels or even just the 4 winter tires.

Does anyone have a set they're looking to sell?

Not that you can have mine (in storage in st louis for if/when I get back there) but kudos for driving your car in snow. I have and the Carrera handles it superbly with proper shoes. Tirerack does great (I think ~$1400 for wheels & tires) but make it easier on yourself and get the cheapest set of wheels you can and have them mounted. I have Dunlop M3's (my favorite) and have had Michelin Pilot Alpine (ok) for performance. Blizzaks are great for heavy snow/ ice but are horrid in dry. Ground clearance will be your rate limiting step, not traction if appropriately shoe'd.

Wish I could help, will probably keep mine another season.

+1 on the Blizzaks

My girlfriend has them on her Mercedes C230 and it makes the car feel like it is on rails in the snow. Before the snow tires, the car was not even close to drivable in the snow & now it's night and day difference. I couldn't imagine driving without them ...and there really is no reason to even get an all wheel drive car because of them.

She's used them for the last 3 winters now and they have 1 season left of tread on them. It's a great $1,000 investment.

Can't send a PM yet as I'm too new to the forum. I would still be interested in them. How much thread is left on them, when did you purchase them and what would your asking price be for them?

I maybe even could connect it with a trip to Toronto to pick them up.

They were purchased in 2009 October when I bought my car. Used for 1.5 seasons (2009/10 and 2010/11) and about 3,000 km or less than 1,900 miles. Comes with TPMS. I am looking for $1,800 USD or CAD. Paid $2,500 CAD for them.

MattAu-

Are your wheels and tires still for sale? Can you please confirm the sizes and offsets so I can verify they'll fit my 2010 997.2 Targa 4S?
