Porsche C4S - meet your sister

After searching for months - I found the Jeep I was looking for: '77 CJ-5, near full-resto, solid condition. Picture taken @ delivery - meeting the C4S.

Thought it was worth sharing....love my stable.

Oh does that bring back memories, some of the best days of my life were spent in my old '76 CJ5

She looks good and I am sure we will enjoy your new toy. Congrats!

Nice pick. I'm on my 7th....... I believe it's the perfect utility complement to a sports car.

YOU KNOW I HAVE COLOR EVNY TOM! -- this at least scratches the itch. I'm calling it mexico blue.

Denver and Golden - solid rigs. Denver: the CJ5 is from....denver (born and raised)

Golden how many inches you have on that lift. That's a serious machine there. The Jeep Mod bug is just as contagious as the porsche bug ... just slightly cheaper.

Thanks....that's funny!

I had two Jeeps back in the day....both Navy Blue. First one a CJ 5 Renegade 1980 and second 1985. Loved them both....putting the top down was a PIA but worth it!

We just bought a house in Naples a few years ago and have been thinking about one for that place. Don't want to spend a fortune....what year is that one and what's the best way to find one? Did you go out of your way to find that color?

Thanks in advance and enjoy the sh*t out of that one....I know I would!

I'm not sure "sister" would be anywhere near the correct characterization. Perhaps if you bought a Cayenne.

I'd say close to "Half wit, American third cousin on your mothers side through marriage."

NugeC4S, it's a 5 1/2" long arm lift. You cannot beat having a Jeep as a second vehicle!Way to versatile to not have one at hand, and not to mention the fun factor.

Hi Tom:

I actually found this on ebay motors. I've been looking locally for sometime and didn't find what I was looking for. It's "Brilliant Blue" which is actually the original factory color. She has 130K miles, but 10K from an entire engine rebuild - new paint job, new clutch - etc etc. Went through a "restoration" of all the key components but by no means is perfect. I'd just keep an eye out on craigslist, ebay and autotrader classic. Most jeeps this age have a new engines in them (you see a lot of big block chevy v-8's) but this has the original flat-6 (rebuilt) ... I paid around $6.5K for her. Strong running jeep. I'm sure I'll wind up butting another $2K to get it just right .... labor on these things too is very cheap - they're simple trucks and most gas station mechanics can work on them - unlike porsche that requires a PhD. ha

Hey Nuge.......look what I just picked up!

We have a 2nd home in Naples, FL and I was looking for an inexpensive 2nd car (Jeep) and I found this one near Miami:

Strangely enough I like her almost as much as my 911!! Figure that!

LOVE IT!!! Great color too. What year is she? Looks MINT. I hear you on the pure enjoyment factor. For a car that's 1/15th the cost - it certainly holds its own. I made a purely visual decal mod to her - added a TONKA logo - she's now called the Blue Tonka.

Also - this is one example of what the P-car CAN'T do (this was literally last night - my TV died and wasn't standing for it the night before the first Sunday of the NFL!)

Your jeep is really well accessorized - the tubular brush bars - black appointments everywhere. That's a gorgeous Jeep. Great find!
