Question Anyone installed a 997.2 GT3 Shifter in their 997?

Hi there

Has anyone installed the latest 997.2 GT3 shifter into a 997 yet? Part number is 997.424.010.91

Be interested to hear how it changed things from the stock shifter? So anyone done this?

By the way I am not talking the OEM SSK here!

So if you read the posts here (towards the end - see post # 41) I think you'll find out the GT3 shifter won't really change anything v. stock - just has different bushing and that OEM SSK is the only way to get the short shift improvement.

searching all day....can someone confirm if ".2 GT3 shifter" has a shorter throw than the "SSK unit"...OR is the only difference between .2 GT3 shifter and standard 997 shifter just the use of metal bushings, while keeping the throw the same?

If the SSK only comes with the lever....does that mean you have to buy the SSK AND the .2 GT3 shifter to get metal bearings AND a shorter throw?

I test drove a 2010 GT3 and commented to the salesman, "so, that's what a short shift feels like", he said "Nope, that's a stock GT3 shifter". I recently installed an SSK in my '09 Carrera S and they both feel similar in tightness and throw. I highly recommend the SSK. It does what it says it does.

does the SSK kit come complete with the whole assembly or is it just the lever?

They look like this - both SSK and GT3.

+1 on installing the OEM SSK ..... I replaced my standard shifter on my 2010 C4S cab last year and it drives exactly how you would hope for and expect for these phenomenal cars! I bought mine from Suncoast and the whole until was a simple swap for the stock unit. My only (potential) regret is that I neglected to upgrade the shifting cables at the same time, but given how much more responsive and fun the SSK is I'll happily forget that I kept the standard shifting cables in!
