As my daily key chain, I use the black leather with Porsche crest that many folks have. It's classic and I have not found one I like better.

But I love key chains, so for fun I mix it up with these every now and then...

Am I the only one who wants the smallest lump of keys in their pocket as possible? I carry just the key on a ring and wish it were a lot smaller.

I am the same way, but I do not mind one key with 1 key Chain, that is what I have on every car I own. I do not carry a house key, never have, never will. I agree the porsche key is big. For my Mustang and my Ram both have a seperate key fob for central lock and such so that takes the place of my Key Chain, I guess the Porsche key is so big because it includes all that stuff in the key.

Funny thread and I read through it to look for suggestions! I'm lucky enough to have one of the newer keys with the metallic ring. Fortunately, it is redesigned and no longer opens the trunk when in your pocket. However, the damn key jingles while driving! Of course even worse if you have more keys on the chain. Funny was that I had the binnacle rattle too and the thing was making noise like there was spare change in the dash! Fixed the binnacle, but now to solve the key issue! I may very well rock the naked key, like some others!

Unfortunately I am constantly misplacing my keys. This helps my wife find them for me.

I had the same problem with the 997.2 metallic key ring, i couldn't stand it and ran with a naked key until i got one of those nice Porsche leather loop rings for Christmas. I thought maybe, just maybe porsche would design them to work together and not rattle. I was wrong.

So i took to finding a solution, which i did by cutting small bits of electrical tape and affixing them to cover both inside corners of that metallic ring. The key is to ensure where the keychain ring touches the metallic key part is insulated with the tape fully. It is kind of a ghetto solution but it works, is 100% silent and i can barely see the tape.

This thread just made me buy another one. Why not have one for the spare key also, maybe I will change them out once in a while.

I'm the same way. Three keys for my office, one for the house plus fob for Lexus and Key for the Porsche. Can't duplicate the office keys. The three office keys are office, bathroom and mail. I tried keeping my bathroom and mail on a separate key ring, but there are only three of us and I got locked out once when in the bathroom. Getting the maintenance to show up took an hour and I'm not dealing with that again! No way to get the office to make the bathroom lock work off the office key, just too pigheaded. In what I pay to rent the place, you'd think they'd accommodate.

But at least I have the best parking spot in the garage!!
