911 in seattle
How many ppl use their 911 in the seattle area? Am looking into moving that way. Have a 07 c2s here in nc and drive about 10k a year as a 2nd car. May drop the honda if i can use public transit and/or bike to work if we live in downtown.
Nc and seattle seem to get little snow but that can vary. Both areas are subject to an occasional bad winter storm. Are most running snow tires in the winter?? Only take her out on dry winter days in nc.
Sure downtown parking could leave only steet parking/garage parking and a manifestation of dings and damage.
Thanks in advance!

It doesn't snow all that often here but when it snows here the drivers are incredibly stupid so I would not drive a 911 here even with Blizzaks. The C2S isn't my daily but it could be if needed.
Potholes galore but nothing a careful driver can't handle.
Serious anti-car mayor currently in office is a downside though. If you live downtown biking to work would definitely be an option.

Do they salt the roads in the Seattle area? I'm just curious as I'm taking a job relocation up to Everett but also just accepted a job offer in Arizona so I don't suspect I'll be in Washington come winter time anyway.

I drive my car in the winter months, I use Pirelli Sottozero Serie II on 19". Winters are totally doable in your p-car. +1 on people not knowing how to drive....unprepared, worn tires on the car or should not be on the road. Seattle add a salt mix this past winter in the worst areas.

All I know is in Pacific North West Oregon people know how to drive in the conditions!I have property in Sandy,Oregon,in the fast lane you only use it for passing another vehicle then you move to the right!I know in Washington it's always 3 wide on the highways (usually under the given speed limit) and no one gets over PERIOD!It's very frustrating!

I lived in Seattle, WA for 6 years, now in Vancouver, BC. I used to have a 997 C2S... While you can certainly get away with a decent set of all season's on your C2S, my recommendation is to keep decent Summer tires for 8 months of the year, and then have a cheap set of winters. My recommendation is to use regular Carrera rims... they're still 19" wheels, but the rears fit a 265 (meaning better winter traction with snows). I've always been a fan of the Nokian WR series tires for the winter as they are a Finnish all-season tire that is V rated, and exceeds winter tire requirements!
