Vorsteiner Rear Bumper major fitment issue that I purchased from Vivid Racings

Hey all a few months ago my car got vandalized and I was getting it repainted...So I decided to do a few add-on's...Such as the wheels, Porsche Aerokit front bumper and a rear Vorstenier Rear Bumper....

The Vorsteiner Rear was a piece of ****....I paid 3k for the rear bumper from Vivid Racing.....Previous to all the work...The shop asked me about the bumper and I told him as I was told by Vivid and Vorsteiner that the bumper would have absolutely no fitment issues....It would fit like an OEM piece....The Shop got the bumper and began to install it....Somewhere down the line he assumed that this was just some Replica that he had to make fit....As I needed the car back in due time...So he painted and prepped it and put it on....Wow....On Vorsteiner for such a shi**y piece of work...The fender well arches do not match up flush with the factory panel...The Rear decklid concave and that of the rear bumper are completely off...The holes that attach the bumper to the inside of the rear boot...Didn't even match up...I contacted Vivid Racing about 5 weeks ago and they said they spoke to Vorsteiner and their waiting on their response back...But they said it's very unlikely that anything will happen since it was already painted and installed....We'll see what happens....But overall I was really disappointed with Vivid Racings customer service and Vorsteiner's quality of workmanship....Total thumbs down....I'll probably never buy anything from either one of these companies again.....As far as the rear bumper I'm not sure what rear bumper I will purchase to make the car actually look legit, Instead of people assuming I half assed it and got some fiber glass kit....One thing is for sure it's not going be from Vivid or Vorsteiner....

That sucks. I am always concerned with this very issue with aftermarket parts.

I assume you confirmed NB vs WB fitment? The vendor should honor a return if they sold it as direct bolt on and provide a refund.

Good luck,

Dave

Dave...Thanks...I confirmed with them and they said it was a narrow body...We'll see what happens...If need be I'll take Vorsteiner to Small Claims Court...

This is surprising because Vorsteiner has alway provided superior service and products are normally spot-on.

On my M3 I had numerous V-CSL boots, bumpers, diffusers, v-wheels, v-BBK, full under-the-hood CF, etc., and always been pleased. I recalled one slight issue with fitment of an item and they took care of it.

You should have first tried fitting the item. I know their practice was always to inform the buyer to first try fitment before painting - normally a sticker is placed on the item.

Just the same good luck resolving this.

Vorsteiner is a quality company.

Gonz....I think if there asking 3k for a bumper...It better fit the first time...It's the Quality, workmanship and the backing of the name...Thats what is suppose to differentiate them from the Ebay, Mold, Knockoff crowd....Thats what you pay a premium for the minimal labor and fitment issues that are suppose to be part of the added cost to you...Nonetheless we shall see what happens....

-Thanks for the PM's....I'm on the RIG and the schedule is a bit busy....I'll reply back in due time and when I hit the shore I will post pictures...

I do understand your disappointment and frustration, and I agree you should receive a part with no issues given the premium you paid. With that said, as with Murphy's Law, nature always sides with the flaw, hence mistakes happen. However, when they do as in this instance, service is another measure.

I dealt directly with Vorsteiner and I was usually one of the first to receive new parts direct. Knowing them as well as I do I can vouch for them, although I know that's meaningless to others.

Given you purchased from Vivid, that's another matter completely. They need to step up and take care of you - regardless whether painted or not!

Good luck

LOL!WOW!!! I thought I was the only one... I bought a VorsteinSh** a year ago from Vivid too, and paid 3.5k$$, fitment was really bad, had to pay $$$ to the body shop to make it fit but still not Porsche worthy. its off my car now. A friend of mine bought parts for his BM and had similar issues with some of them. IMO avoid Vorsteiner and Vivid! We should sue them for false publicity about fitment.
