PCM 2.1 Navigation update 2010 (2012?+)

Just talked to my friend dealership and they quoted me $499 + $115 for installing the latest 2010 Navigation DVD.

Does anybody know if Porsche NA will release any more updates to PCM 2.1 Navigation?

If not then I will just have to order from Suncoast the 2010 DVD.

Please advise if you know of any update rumors. Would hate to buy 2010 DVD and have 2012 or 2013 come out in the next few months.

I would like to know this as well. Does it just update the Nav or does it update the software on the PCM? My PCM has been acting up lately. Few times while driving it will randomly change radio stations on me. Then jump between two, it's extremely annoying.

I suggest you do a little research regarding the configuration of your PCM 2.1 and whether it's ready for the latest mapping DVD. There is a bunch of info (use the search function) on the various Porsche forums (this one included) that might help you avoid pit falls and trouble.

I'm at:
PCM 2.1 - (Model Level C: 05395BD1 / 4505).
NAV - 00179436/3306 (33 week of 2006).

Did a search for my question. Found NOTHING on 2012 NAV being released. Would you care to point me where this information is found?

I know nothing about a 2012 NAV DVD release. I think the latest (and last I've been told for the 2.1 PCM) is a 2010 release. See http://www.suncoastparts.com/product..._Interiorradio

I did my upgrade a few years back and had to update my PCM as the first step. I'm now at SW Version 3.0 w/ my NAV at 00179436/3306. I think Version 'C' will allow the latest (2010) NAV DVD's. If you PM me your email address I'll send you a PDF file of the PCM Upgrade Instructions although I suspect you won't need them as your 997.1 is a later build (ie MY 2007+)

FWIW: Don't expect much of an update to the DVD 'points of interest' and such. Unless you travel in relatively new areas the investment might not yield the results you desire.
