I think I'm going to order the lip (xmas gift to myself) and paint it a flat/matte black. The good thing about that is I won't be concerned about scratches and such as they won't show at all, and can always clean & paint over them if my OCD requires it.

+1 I like the unfinished / matte look better on the lip though the Speedster comes only painted. A good body shop should be able to replicate the finish close to the side skirts. My body shop did it for me when they installed the FVD lip:

From afar, you can't that the finish is different between the front lip and side skirts.
