I'm making a set of custom racing seats with a matching rear seat delete with a local upholstery shop and I'm having a lot of trouble finding a proper match to a black 997 turbo interior leather.

I've tried 7 different suppliers and none of them have stuff that's remotely high quality enough to match the material in the interior. Worse yet most of these small businesses will make promises that they have the right material then send me stuff that isn't nearly as smooth or fine grain as the Porsche stuff.

Even worse still I managed to get one company to actually get a perfect match, they sent me 2 hides which I used to do 70% of my project but when I needed a third one they sent me material that wasn't even remotely the same grain. Very shady.

To say the least I'm tierd of getting the run around with these suppliers. Does anyone know of a legitimate source for getting the OEM leather material?

 

I have a upholstery business and I am currently bidding on a project for a the new Porsche corporate HQ in Atlanta. They have specified Spinneybeck leathers on their interiors. Don't know if it is the OEM seat leather but its a start. Spinneybeck has a very broad and diverse range of leathers both in quality, look and feel. I cannot imagine you wouldn't find what you needed.

 

Work with the poster who responded or any auto upholstery shop in your area.
