Noisy Rear Wing

For some strange reason battery was dead...so plugged in charger and when power was turned on via the charger the rear wing started to open up. Boy did it make some noise. I guess it needs some lube...since the car is an 07 and I've had it for 22 months and I haven't lubricated it.

Question for the experts here.....is this a DIY job? I'm doing an AX next weekend and nednto make sure the wing is good to go.

Thanks in advance for the help!!

A little silicone spray can work to quiet it down a bit. Funny thing is, while I hear many complain its quite loud to raise and lower in the garage, I have not seen a single complaint of hearing it deploy in use. In fact I see many posts from folks looking for ways to confirm it actually works at speed, since its operation is so hard to detect.

I do wonder if the wing is up during operation. With the engine noise and tire noise...can't hear much outside the car. I will look for the spray.

Thanks
