I see you have the initial version of the PCM (ie. no phone or MP3 capability). I have the same version although I upgraded the PCM software to accept later NAV DVDs. You'll find a few early 997s w/ later version PCMs. They were changed out due to failure, malfunction or recall. I use the Dension 500 as my music source (interface great w/ the PCM and MOST) and a Blue Ant Hands-Free phone adapter for my IPhone.
You'll love the PCCBs; extremely long wearing pads/rotors and almost dustless.
Once again best of luck w/ your 'Launch Car'.

Awesome stuff. I'm about to pass 15k on my 2006 C2S Aero. People at my C&C meetup can't believe it.

I'm always puzzled why a "launch car" is a feature buyers want. To me it is a detraction since many have substantial test drive (I.e. cold revs) miles on them. I've seen some with over 300 on the clock. I just don't get it. It certainly adds no value.

I'd say if anything they sat in the showroom more than the lot, and probably did have quite a few sit in them more so than drive them. They usually have some less than common option extras. In the end, let the guy be happy with his car.

Let me try to shed some light on this topic. The original 997.1 Launch Car back in 2004 had every conceivable option at that time including PCCB's ($9K option). So buying one of these cars are 2012 prices is a pretty good deal considering they had MSRP's north of $100K at that time.
One more thing . . . They weren't demo cars so they didn't get a lot of dealer miles before being sold. True a lot of people sat in them while in the showroom but I don't think that distracts from the value.
