Just got the Bilstein Damptroics installed / CLICKING NOISE WHEN TURNING WHEEL

Just bought the Bilstein damp coil overs PASM compatible from a member here that had them on his car. After install i picked up the car today, and there is Clicking- snapping (SPRING COIL FRICTION) when i turn the wheel left & right...

i went back to the shop (very reputable shop that know what they are doing) they said this clicking is normal on some installs- They put some Red Line grease on it, & the clicking lightened up but is still there.

its like a popping clicking sounds, sounds like springs...i searched here and found some mixed answers- I asked the place to double check the drop links & they said thats not it-

They said sometimes the car needs either "Camber Plates" or something called a "Top hat" i think that goes somewhere over the springs.

Funny that you would mention this. There is another thread that may be related: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-question.html

I have camber plates only and they click. Want to know how many expansion joints there are between Cincinnati and Columbus?

Are you sure it's not the drop links binding at full lock?

Sounds like spring coil friction , today it seems to be gone - any certain things I should check for? Answers are way confusing when doing search. Thanks

I'd say if someone sits in your car and goes full lock side to side you can watch and see if it's the drop link binding... As long as they do it slowly...

Also if the drop link is either broken or loose (happens too) just check the rod ends usually as it'll be obvious there too.
