No problem with the questions... pretty much, you have 3 ways of getting audio out of the iPad to your stereo.
1. via the lightning cable and connected to a iStreamer device. You will loose control of the volume on the ipad and will need some sort of **** control placed somewhere else. There is no need for a pre-amp with this.
2. via headphone plug. All controls are from the iPad (volume, etc) the 3.5mm stereo plug, needs to be connected to a 300W pre-amp in order to power the car's stereo
3 via bluetooth/airplay. All controls on the iPad and you still need to connect your wireless unit (bt or airport xtreme) to your 300W pre-amp.

2. My only other option is the headphone jack but volume control is still an issue being pandora and some of my internet radio apps dont have on screen volume control the way the ipod function does.
Ive been looking into preamps but havent seen any advertising actual wattage just line voltage so im a little lost here.
Im running 2 kicker amplifiers, a 4ch and a monoblock for sub duties.
Thanks in advance and again sorry for picking your brain

thanks for the kind words.... the home button is a soft touch idea, where you lightly press where the home button is and you are there. I also have enabled the multi gesture option, in which, in any application, you can go to the home screen with a 4 finger pinch.
