Also do tires have to be rebalanced as well after install?
All Porsche sensors are 433 MHz. Site lists the sensors for your car, many cars use the same sensor. If you have aftermarket wheels they may need a different sensor. Call them if you're still not sure which sensor to get. Wheels need to be rebalanced any time the tires are removed.

New Here

I just registered after suffering from severe dealer pricing shock. I am in Canada and have a 2007 C4S Cab, which I bought new and have put on only 14,500km - less than 10,000 miles. The TPS system has been acting wonky lately with misreadings and warnings, and on doing some research I found this forum.

Based on the experiences from the members reported on this thread, I just ordered a set of the OEwheel sensors and will report back how they worked out for me. Thank you all for doing the legwork and sharing it here.

A local dealer quoted me over CAD1000 just for the 4 sensors and I just do not have the heart to spend this king of money. Another dealer has quoted me CAD 1800 for a major service, which is essentially a change of the air filters, cabin filter, oil filter and oil change and inspection/cleaning of the drains. Are these guys for real? If the cost of servicing the car would be more realistic, I would not hesitate of having the work done at the dealer, but CAD3000 for basic maintenance is a joke.

Just joined. Thanks for all the helpful research. Just ordered a set of ITM TPMS from oewheels for my 07c2 (http://www.oewheelsllc.com/TPMS-Sens...2#.U5jdr_ldXNs) $201 shipped. Eyeballying a set of Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 from tirerack. Rear ContiSport are running thin and although fronts still had life, both had a patches. I know, I'm a nail magnet...

TPMS Replacement

I just got an extra set of wheels for autocross/track use and my original wheels have the original TPMS (2008 997S) with one battery starting to fail. My mechanic suggested disabling the system in the car so I don't keep getting all the lights on the dashboard.

With two sets of wheels plus the fact that I'm always checking/changing tire pressures anyway, I'm definitely having the system disabled and I will not be replacing any of the sensors.

I think you can disable it with the Durametric Professional.
