991 vs GTS

This is not going to make any sense but I'll say it anyway.
Something about buying the outgoing model that doesn't appeal to me when I can have a new one even though the new one appeals to me way less.
Don't worry....I can't even figure out what I mean by that.

after selling a 2009 997.2 S I had in mind to go for a 991S and actually test drive it on sports mode with PSE and it drives and feels good, I couldnt wait 6 month, I found a 2010 GT3 and am so happy with it now. You have to test drive the car you want and then decide, I love the GTS but I think the 991 looks and drives better. I t all depends on how you wanna use the car (track/daily) you may also consider a GT3 its just drives amazing!!

Thanks for your input. Decided to go with a '12 4GTS with 3000 miles. I looked hard at '12 991's but finding one with PDK and sport exhaust at a good price was tough. Decided on the 4GTS because of all the standard features and low mileage, and of course price was a factor. 991's with decent options are still commanding premium prices. I think the GTS will be a solid performer with great looks and hold value.

I was at the dealer today. I feel like others about buying the outgoing model, but feel you made the right choice. Still trying to get used to the center console on the 991's. It's sort if like the headlights on the 991, amazing cars but just different. I think the 997 GTS will remain a classic, rare 911.

I've been lurking on this thread too. I wonder what the majority of opinion would be if this question were posted in the 991 forum and not the 997 forum..
Seems like a lightly used 991 CS could be had for around 95-105 now. How much should a lightly used 4GTS go for?

Last February I was in the same position and after driving both, I chose the GTS. To me, the GTS just felt harder driving, more raw, and just a really direct feel to driver, probably a result of the electronic steering vs hydraulic. There was also something about getting into the first batch of 991's that scared me a little with bugs and recalls. I love my GTS and don't regret the decision at all. The driving experience you get with a GTS is simply incredible. In the end, I feel like I got the 997 that Porsche had years to perfect. In a few years I'll probably look into the 991 GT3 or 991 Turbo, but I'll take my GTS over a 991S any day.

Since they've had time to work them out, the outgoing model will usually have less bugs than the incoming model.

Some great deals to be had now on left-over GTS. Saw some with sticker >120K going for <100K. However, suprised to see that you can get 13K off on new 991 C2S inventory as well. Makes the GTS bit less of a steal as Porsche is usually very stringent on new car discounts. Wonder why 991's already sell that low... that being said, love the GTS but 991S* selling at 13K discount may be the way to go.

Right? I share the same logic. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the GTS, but for 991 CS money?
