please help!!, can't decide between 08 c4s vs 09 c2s
Hi everyone,
I've been searching over the last few months for a 997.2 c2s and I found one this past week, did the ppi today and everything and was ready to make the deal tomorrow, however I just found a 997.1 c4s at another dealership making me doubt again since price on both cars are almost the same. (c4s is actually a little bit cheaper)
2008 c4s has 32k miles
2009 c2s has 25k miles
everything else is the same
same color outside/inside
manual trans.
sport chromo
power seats
bose sound system
nav
seated heats
I live in SoCal so the need for a awd is not really required however, I do like the wider rear looks of the c4s which pretty much will be the only reason I will pick the 08 c4s instead of the 09 c4s but I wanted to avoid the 997.1 cause of the ims failure and other issues where everybody suggested to get a 997.2
One last thing, both cars are CPO so their warranties will be good til end of 2014 and end of 2015 respectively.
Thank you

First things first, you should drive both cars and actually put a bit of time into it. Take some on ramps/off ramps, take some quick turns, get up to freeway speed and feel what cruising is like.
These cars seem very similar, but if you have driven them, they are so different. There is no right or wrong answer here, but here are the two schools of thought. If you spend enough time behing the wheel you will start to fall into one of these two camps:
C4S supporters: Wide rear end gives big advantage on the looks. 4 wheel drive can help out in bad weather. 4 wheel drive can give you better grip through the corners. The front of the car has a more solid, planted feel.
C2S supporters: The front end is lighter and can be thrown into corners better. Overall lower weight makes it faster and generally more responsive. The front differential is just dead weight if you ever track the car.
If you don't drive them enough to make your own opinion, you will be basing it up others opinions...

Muerdeme beat me to it. I could not write it any better.
Personally I have the 4S. I really enjoy it whenever I outrun almost everyone on on/off ramps. With the recent rainy days, the 4S really makes me happy. -side is the weight.
As muerdeme said, drive them.

997.2 C2S for sure.
Updated Electronics - Nav is a lot better (touch screen), integrated bluetooth / ipod (if you have it). It's also Black.. I don't like the grey electronics.
New Engines - DFI , no IMS, more HP.
Updated bumpers / LED Tails.
I'd rather have all that stuff instead of 4wd.
