Is this the correct DME report? Just got my durametric and was playing around... Reset oil indicator also. Still learning if there is anything else useful with the enthu. tool? Any input? Thanks
Thanks Softronic... and Durametric for the fast assistance.

But "Range 10"? Why not "Range 1"? No overrevs. Looks like you have not even hit the rev limiter. Do you believe this to be the case?
If not, maybe the Softronic "cleared" the over rev ranges?
Miles divided by operating hours gives an average speed of 43.3 mph. That's kind of high. Do you do a lot of freeway driving?
Arrange to do the same DME readout on another car and compare the two readings.

I tidied up the formatting a bit. Sort of looks ok.

I think it s ranges 1-6 with a zero attached... (No range 10).
Lots of highway driving. I probably never had it past 6K RPM s. It was a 5000 mile car when I bought it.. I am going to assume that no one cleared the DME. Would the dealer clear it? It was a CPO.
It s a all highway car so far... No city driving at all... Fla to upstate NY, interstate 95. I live in a rural area too. When I went to FLA TO PICK IT UP WE DROVE 24 HOURS STRAIGHT..(I just can drive long stretches no matter the car) Only food and fuel stops. Took an extra day coming home with the Porsche. So although 43 MPH is on the higher side, that s just how it s been driven so far.

A 997-1 DME records the following rev ranges:
Range 1: 7300-7500 RPM
Range 2: 7500-7700 RPM
Range 3: 7700-7900 RPM
Range 4: 7900-8400 RPM
Range 5: 8400-9500 RPM
Range 6: 9500-11000 RPM

If you look at my original post I think it was the way I cut and pasted the screen,, Then Macstr tries to clean it up , but when I cut and pasted the original screen it did look like you posted (range 1-6)... Don t know why it wouldn t cut and paste the way ot was showing on screen.. I did print it the correct way for my own records.

The info in your post appears all run together. Sample:
"Over-revs Range 10 / 0.00hOver-revs Range 20 / 0.00h"
If the data reads something like:
Over-revs Range 1 0/0.00h
Over-revs Range 2 0/0.00h
and this means there are no over revs for range 1, range 2, etc, then it would appear the engine has never touched red line, let alone experienced over revs.
If you know this to be the case then fine.
AFAIK the dealer can't clear the over-rev range counters.
Well, check that... in the case of an engine replacement under warranty the dealer might be able to reset these.
Of course if the engine was replaced under warranty the chances are high that there would be only range 1 over revs or whatever is the upper limit to what over revs Porsche will accept and still replace an engine under warranty.
To do this the dealer might have to do a complete DME (chip) erase and then reload the entire DME flash image. I'm pretty sure this requires some kind of permission from Porsche to do.
And a tuner might have a way of doing this. I mean if the over rev range counters/engine run times do not reside in one time programmable memory they can be erased/re-written or just erased and one might not be the wiser, unless the factory has some kind of tamper detect present in its FLASH or there is something in the factory database that tracks over rev range counters/run time.
As I've mentioned before I've been told that when a car is brought for work/warranty work/etc the Porsche diagnostics computer is connected and the car's entire electronic controller population is scanned and lots of data ("20 pages worth" I was told) is gathered and sent via some private wireless connection from the diagnostics computer to the dealer's company network and through that to the dark deep recesses of Porsche.
Among this data has to be over rev counters/engine run time, etc.
That the numbers do not jive may not cause any alarms inside Porsche. It is not Porsche's job to police used cars sold outside of its dealer network.
But if the car is covered by some warranty and the car is brought in then if the numbers do not agree... well, then alarms will sound inside Porsche, I'm sure.

Thanks, for your help.
Over-revs Range 1 0/0.00h
Over-revs Range 2 0/0.00h
You are correct that the 0 after the range , when I cut and pasted it, ran together.
Now everyone can tell me I need to push the car harder, LOL.
