Wish You Had A Laser Jammer?

The beauty of the German system is the fine is based on the Km/h you've over the limit (fixed cost x the Km/h). In most cases the fines are minimal, just a few Euros. The bill shows up, you pay it electronically, life goes on. They don't get bent out of shape about it, nor make you feel as if you're a criminal. Where I lived in Germany, we had two cars which were used for this and they were easy to spot. No detection system allowed nor needed. When I returned from Germany in 2009, I purchased my 9500ix as I knew I would need it. It paid for itself in the first month of having it.

nice web site!
I like the VIEL. It reduces distance by up to 3 times. I guess it's hard for cops to find it out and won't generate a jam code on their gun.
IMO, a radar and laser detector w/VIEL is a good match to not get in trouble with a law
Detector warns you that a laser is pointed at you. Nothing else. a passive device
And you pray that VIEL will give you enough time to slowdown

To me http://www.guysoflidar.com/july-2008...mmer-test.html test and website is worthless, 2008 data - I don't think so.

Since I'm not in the market for one, I didn't do additional research, just shared what I used. Post what you find.

I gave you a rep point since you took one for the team

No. In fact I've gone away from any and all detection/jamming systems other than I don't run a front plate on my cars and haven't for years (since that's the primary place the cops aim their guns at and by far the best place they can bounce the radar off of).
I've owned a V1 twice in my life and sold my second one a few years ago and haven't gotten a speeding ticket since (not for lack of trying!). The cops here use instant on almost exclusively so a radar detector does you very little good since by the time it tells you there's a cop, they've already nailed you. I got quite a few tickets when I had my V1 because it gave me a false sense of security so I'd drive fast anywhere and everywhere. Now, I selectively drive very fast only when:
1) I can see for a long distance and know there aren't cops hiding or
2) I just want to drive fast and I don't care if I get stopped.

I use one in my LX570, works fine except in cold weather when it always disconnects from the windshield and flies across the passenger seat. Then I can't reattach it until the windshield warms up from sitting in the garage for a few hours. This despite the LX570 has a heated, $1,500 windshield.
It happened to me today and I couldn't get the suction cup to adhere at stop lights on my way to the office.
When it's not sub freezing out, it works amazingly well for a suction cup.
I deal with the mount because it's from a previous vehicle and I won't buy another because nothing has the TSR systems mastered yet.

I have a 4 head Blinder HP-905 system with 3 heads on the front of the car and one on the rear. Very discrete set up that has saved me a few tickets and adds peace of mind. Despite the cost of equipment and installation, I would wager they have saved me thousands of dollars in insurance premiums.

In the Bay Area I never speed around end of month on the Dumbarton Bridge.
And never on the 101 near Novato. They're always sitting there picking people off, every time I do that drive a few miles before the 37 exit.

I have been running the Blinder Extreme's for a few years now, and they are flat out ridiculous against laser. It's an active/ always system, that basically works like a cloaking device, preventing cops with laser from getting a reading on you. When you get his, you're protected, you hear the warning, hit the brakes, get down to legal speed, and hit the kill switch to give the cops a reading of you now at 55mph.
Here in ATL, it's 100% laser. I cannot tell you how many times it has saved me from what have been costly tickets. Easily paid for itself in just one encounter with laser.
I also have a V1 hardwired, but it's really only useful on road trips.
There is no downside to the Blinder Extreme system, and in my opinion it is the best system out there.
