PCM / Radio Issue

I have a 2006 C2. A few months ago, I started in my car and the screen did not come on and No Radio. Checked fuses etc. but to no avail. A few days later, started it up and everything came on as normal.

Yesterday, I pushed a button to change station and the screen went blank and the radio went off.

I can't get it to come back on. Anyone else seen this? Does it just need a nap?

Well something is broken. If its a fuse, something is still broken because the condition that caused the fuse to blow would not be a normal condition. Bring it to a dealer/service center with the know-how to work on a PCM/

Worse case...liquid spill.
Cup holder in front of the screen.
Drips down the LCD on the board below and then time for a new radio,
Don't want to scare you but I've seen it happen.

Internal PCM issue, take it to the dealer. Unfortunately you will likely have to replace it. I would start researching replacements such as Pioneer, etc as the OEM one will probably be very pricey. Maybe you can find a used one.

I don't think our cars were meant to be easily audio-upgradeable without much $$. Plus, you might lose a lot of integration with the car.

I would try Becker to repair the unit and add the aux upgrade at the same time.

Did u ask for the aux upgrade? If so, let us know. I want to know the quality as it is not supposed to be FM-modulation.

PCM Repair

I sent my PCM to Becker for repair. The tag was going to be $750.00, so I did this instead. Could not be happier..... and spent less money.

That is a Pioneer AppRadio 2. It's kind of interesting. It connects to your phone and runs apps like Navigation, Pandora radio, etc that are installed on your phone. Bluetooth is quite good.

It fairly new and has a few issues to resolve, but I like it.

Buyer Be ware The AppRadio 2 has a ton of issues.

I sold 10 of them and had to take 8 back from either bad iPod communication cables and amp mode is intermittent at best.

If you have upgraded to the iPhone 5 or IOS 6.1 it will not work well

I have a ton of video up on my you tube channel of fails units.

The Kenwood DXN719 and Alpine INE-W535HD are great alternatives

The New Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS Supports full App Mode and is more reliable as long as you get the cable for app mode for iPhone 4/4S.
will support android's like the Samsung Galaxy III
They will have the iPhone 5 cable available this summer.

I guess you don't like it.

Here is my take....

I had a radio (very broken) that was an AM/FM Single CD. I didn't care much for anything other that Radio, iPod and Bluetooth. I loaded an old iPod, stuck it in the glove box and its always there. Bluetooth is as good as anything else I have used.

I was all that I (that is Me with a capital M) wanted. It works completely fine. I played with the apps and they are OK, but not of that much interest to ME....it is, after all, MY CAR.

I spent less money than the radio repair, got more features. I did go to the local guy and for $1,500.00 he would load me up with what HE thought I would NEED.

I like it what I did.....

Just my take on it.

Was you car fiber optic? just curious or did you rewire the amp?

I would do the appraido 2 or the AVH-X5500BHS
around a 1K install as long as its not fiberoptic.

If you did your own install NICE Work!!
