Steering Wheel

I am fairly new to 6speedonline.... I have done a search and read some of the threads on steering wheels. Does anyone know anything about this steering wheel? I have not seen one like it on the forum here. I have been focusing mostly on performance upgrades, but want to start working on the interior. Does it make sense to consider an upgrade to the steering wheel?

It's an OEM "silver look" steering wheel. Suncoast has it.

OEM, just seen it in the 06 brochure I have. An option for the aluminum package (?) I believe. My car has the aluminum package option but not the wheel. Is the wheel just silver leather or is it aluminum?

Since you asked for an opinion, in my opinion, the regular sport wheel with the round airbag, nice thumb rests and no buttons looks best for a sports car. Do you really want buttons on the the wheel? The airbag harkens back the 996 (like someone wearing a speedo backwards...)

The smaller, round airbag is classier.

I've got the small round airbag wheel with thumb rest AND buttons.

I can say that I much more appreciate the ability to adjust the volume up and down, turn off the PCM screen, and zoom in/out on the NAV map, with just my thumbs.

I'd like to see this wheel too. I miss having steering wheel controls.

The swap is detailed in this thread http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...-function.html

The original 2009 XPA extra thick steering wheel is on the left, the new style wheel (thinner, heated, multifunction) is on the right.
Photos taken of my wheels from my car.

Where did you get it? Will it work in a 997.1?

I spoke to the kind guys at Suncoast about this and it sounds like it's possible on 997.1's with a control module. It's pricey though. But hands down for me my favorite.
