Wheels BBS CH-R or HRE P40

I note that you seem to be comparing one piece wheels. As previously stated, there is a big difference between a forged wheel and a cast wheel. Why not check out OZ as well? Their racing pedigree is just as long as BBS'. I would only add that some of those fancy MULTI piece wheels are "forged" - they only have forged centers and spun cast barrels. And those barrels bend like butter. Check out the cost of having a new barrel installed on one of those wheels! You won't believe it and you are held hostage by the wheel company.

Such a funny business - wheels. How to turn $10 worth of raw aluminum into a $1600 work of art (until it cracks).
After replacing so many "lightweight" wheels that crack on the street, I'm taking a new course - using "heavy" wheels that will stand up to the mean streets of San Diego, then replace a wheel when it cracks.
Unsprung weight yadda yadda, thats what 1.3 bar is for....

After I got a cracked rim on my HREs after about 2 months of driving, I'll never go back. I always took it easy around bumps and potholes and still got a cracked wheel. Sure they looked great and new the set was $7,000
I know a lot of people with BBS wheels and never had any issues. They're strong as hell, look great and way cheaper than HREs.

Hmm, out of curiosity, were you the original owner of those HREs?

I bought them used from a buddy who had a 911 as well. He got them new.
They were in near perfect shape when I purchased them.
Don't get me wrong, I think HRE makes a beautiful product but I wish they had more strength to them.
