+1 on this post..
I've been obsessed with these cars since I was a kid. But, I have had faster cars in the past. My 2005 VW R32, 2001 S4, all heavily modded, would probably run circles around my 997, which has a balance of performance and aesthetic mods. That's not the reason I bought the car. If i wanted just a "fast" car I would of bought a Z06, GTR, GT500... the list goes one and I would of probably saved a few $$...
Anyway, I think its a matter of respecting other people but at the same time expressing your opinion. He just came off as an a-hole and although I do not know him I bet he is the type of guy with very little friends...
There are a handful of mods that people have put on their car that I would not put on mine. But, I respect the individuality and creativity of that person. I would not come on here and say they were a poser or tell them a better way to spend their money.
I enjoy this forum and seeing all the creativity and different twists on these cars!

It isn't about body or 'go fast' mods - its about doing what you enjoy to and with your car. To me for example 'go fast' mods are pretty much 'pointless'...as you can always just buy a car to be as fast as you want it to be. Between AMG benzez, Corvettes, M BMWs and Shelby Mustangs there are no shortages of cars that can be bought already that run 12s or 11s 'stock'. You're in essence never going to catch up or beat those cars power wise - and that power is usually available for relatively inexpensive prices. Porsche has never been the fastest cat on the block, especially in the price range that they charge - and a lot of customers go into a Porsche knowing that. I myself bought a Porsche for its heritage, timeless design and driving feel amongst most important factors to me.
Aesthetic mods are much more complex as you can't always buy a car 'lowered' from the factory, or have a particular taste for a front lip, rear bumper or a few custom pieces on the interior. I myself is a much more 'aesthetic' mod guy because I purchase the car being 'happy' with its performance the way it is. If I wasn't, I would just buy the car that is 'faster' stock. I feel that Tarek did a wonderful job with his Porsche and sometimes no 'power' under the hood brings the satisfaction of looking at your car and knowing it looks 'perfect' to you.

Late to the party but congrats Tarek. Looks mean and clean. I think you made the right choice with the mk1 wing instead.
You'll need a lifetime supply of quick detailer now that you're all black. Might I recommend Ultimate waterless wash concentrate if you haven't already tried it yet.. One concentrated bottle makes like 32 bottles of QD and this stuff is slick. I use it all the time and haven't run out yet.
I think the results were worth the wait.
