My Baby has arrived
Finally she has arrived. Would love to tell you that she arrived looking perfect but she actually looked like a giant block of salt. Very short drive from where she was unloaded was all it took to bring back over 30 years of memories nothing feels like sitting in a Porsche.
Quick handwash to check everything was good then tucked her up in the garage to stop her turning into an ice block
Only one niggle I have found so far is one off the keys doesn't seem to work . Registers as key two when you put it in the car but cant start car or unlock using it.

Thanks guys...
Not really got any mods planned yet. There are things I think I would like for example LED lights but when I got her cleaned up yesterday I decided the lights at the back looked better than I remembered, so I will wait and enjoy her exactly as she is for the moment and have a real good think about any improvements I make. Might be more interesting to do a little at a time and really appreciate what each extra addition adds. I think the best investment at the moment would be on a good detail. Being a non metallic black the paint has some noticeable swirls in it when seen under artificial light and if you look below she arrived in quite a state so would be good to get a really good clean job done on her.
I had my first real drive today as I wanted to introduce her to the local independent service place and have a local detailer in Wakefield have a quick once over. The Detail place was shut but at least I got to introduce her to the service place. He is going to sort out the front number plate holder for me.
Driving impressions.... I subscribe to a magazine called GT Porsche and there was recently an article in there which matched the new 991 Carrera cab against the new Boxster. The article made a big deal about how poor every other cab 911 in history had ever been and that the 991 represented the first time it was as sorted as the coupe. For someone of my limited driving skills however this way off the mark. The Cab even on Boston's road felt every bit as sorted as any coupe I had driven before. Now I am sure when you get these cars up within a few percent of there limits the coupe is better but for us mere mortal drivers who limit there driving to public roads and don't like to overly abuse the limits it felt magnificent.
My biggest problem being getting used to a manual again and controlling my nerves. I had a serious case of sweaty palms and probably annoyed a few people by obeying every speed limit . I had a short stretch on the motorway and opened her up in third as I joined reached 4 and half rpm was way beyond the speed limit and backed off with a huge smile on my face. Even though the car has 26k on the clock I am treating the first two months as a run in period as my warranty only kicks in after two months and 500 miles. I didn't press any of the sports buttons or pasm yet will wait until things are warmer and I am a little more confident with the car.
Below you can see a picture of how she arrived.... (I have updated my first post with some pictures with the immediate cleaning I performed, good way of also being a 100% sure that I new the car was clean from any damage.) Just a quick aside but all photos taken with my new Nokia 920 really is the best phone I have ever used.

Hi Jonhunt thanks....
I am positive it has to be programmed as well as it doesn't even work when plugged into the ignition slot and when I press the button I can clearly see a light which would suggest a battery is there. Looks very clean the second key as well.
One other question the drive who had the car was obviously a far taller man/woman than me and when ever I open the car his key automatically adjusts the drivers seat to his setting. How can I change this so it is loyal to its new master

Look in the book to set the seat... If I remember correctly, you move the seat to the postion you want and then Hold in the #1 button on the door until it beeps....
Nice car, too bad we are in the north east now with all the icey weather.
